Dr. Scott-Myers grew up in Dyer, Indiana and completed her pre-vet studies at Purdue University Calumet. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University in 1983. Afterwards Dr. Scott worked for seven years in Columbia City treating both large and small animals in a mixed animal practice. She briefly returned to Dyer, IN working in primary care for one year before finding her true passion in emergency and critical care. In 1991 Dr. Scott began working at the emergency animal clinic in downtown Fort Wayne. The emergency clinic became part of St Joe Center Vet Hospital in 1996 before eventually splitting off in 2004 and evolving into the Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (NIVES). Dr. Scott-Myers has spent the last 20 years at NIVES as the most senior member of its Emergency and Critical Care service. Her passion for helping animals in need of critical care is as strong as ever! She and her husband Mike have 3 sons and own a farm in Whitley County. Dr. Scott-Myers is also the Treasurer of her church and a clerk for her husband as the Columbia Township Trustee. In her free time she enjoys playing piano and leaning how to play the ukulele.
