Emergency and Critical Care
The distinct bond that you share with your pet means that their urgent problem should be addressed immediately. That is why NIVES provides emergency and critical care services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Our emergency staff is highly trained to deal with the most unusual and life threatening conditions. Whether it involves a serious accident, medical condition, or surgical emergency, our competent staff will take care of both you and your pet. We have the most advanced diagnostic equipment and physiological monitoring capabilities to help provide the highest level of care.
Surgery
Our surgery team has received the highest level of training, which enables us to meet the demands of challenging surgical cases. Our board certified surgeons are trained to perform all types of orthopedic, neurologic, thoracic, abdominal and reconstructive surgical procedures. Our team includes registered veterinary technicians who work with the surgeons to provide the highest level of care for you and your pet.
We utilize multimodal pain management and careful assessment to maintain an ideal level of comfort for each patient. Our surgical patients are monitored with state-of-the-art equipment and intensive post-operative 24-hour care is provided.
Internal Medicine
Pets that suffer from difficult or complex diseases can be the most frustrating cases, both for referring veterinarians and the pet’s owner. Our internist has the experience and training to help diagnose and treat these diseases. We offer diagnostic and therapeutic treatments for diseases that involve the heart, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, circulatory system and urogenital tract.
The diagnostic tools that we have available include ultrasonography, endoscopy, in hospital and referral blood testing and digital radiography. We will work closely with you and your veterinarian to decide the best treatment plan for your ailing pet.
Dermatology
Dealing with a pet’s skin problems isn’t fun. Our highly trained dermatology staff as well as a board certified veterinarian will diagnose the underlying condition using both blood testing and skin testing. Based on diagnostic findings, a treatment plan will be developed to get your pet “itch” free through the treatment of not only the symptoms but the cause as well.
Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation can be beneficial for geriatric, overweight, osteoarthritic and neurological pets as well as those pets recovering from surgery. Our rehabilitation team includes Jill Kitson DVM, CCRT and Andrea Briner RVT, CCRA who together provide a complete rehabilitation plan for your pet. Electronic neuromuscular stimulation, LASER therapy, hydrotherapy and therapeutic exercises are utilized for the treatments of patients while in our hospital. A complete home exercise program is then customized for each patient’s needs and owner’s availability to continue progress at home.
