Specialty Services

NIVES Mission

The mission of the Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (NIVES) is to provide the highest quality specialty medicine for small animals in the tri-state region. We share the common goal of providing the best medical care for your pet and believe that collaboration with your primary care veterinarian can help achieve that goal. Our team of doctors, technicians and client service representatives will work closely with your primary veterinarian to provide comprehensive care for your pets.

NIVES features a team of board certified specialists

NIVES features a team of board certified specialists who have advanced training in various veterinary medical and surgical disciplines. To become a board certified specialist, a veterinarian must complete, at a minimum, four years of veterinary college, a one year internship, and two to three years in a residency program. Finally, they must pass a series of rigorous examinations.

You and your pet may be referred to a veterinary specialist if diagnosing or treating your pet’s health problem requires specialized equipment and/or intensive medical care. Our hospital features state-of-the-art equipment for fast and reliable diagnostic testing including in-house blood work, digital radiography, CT scan and ultrasound imaging. We offer advanced treatments, such as blood and plasma transfusions, with a fully staffed intensive care unit to provide optimal care for critical patients.

NIVES is proud to offer referral appointments in the following specialties:

Open 24hrs a day, 365 days a year.
