Cardiology

Our Cardiology department is staffed by Dr. Eryn Leffers

Dr. Eryn Leffers is a board-certified specialist, along with a team of experienced technicians. Dr. Leffers can utilize non-invasive testing to diagnose and manage common cardiac diseases including valve disease, dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure, and arrhythmias. In addition, she is trained in diagnosing congenital heart defects in dogs and cats.

Your pet and heart disease

If your dog or cat has suspected or confirmed heart disease, we encourage you to visit the NIVES Cardiology department for a consultation. The goal of the consultation is to develop a plan that will improve the quality and length of life for your pet. After reviewing your pet’s history and performing a physical exam, Dr. Leffers will discuss options for non-invasive testing. This will provide information regarding prognosis, treatment options (primarily oral medications if needed), and monitoring recommendations.
